It’s the new year! Come come to our little ‘LUCK LUCK’ Goody Shop, we have all the goodies for the Spring Festival of the Year of the Dragon 🐉
As with the shop is crazy busy with the selling, here come supportive from the dragon!

Ten days ahead of the festival, people set to prepare for it. And that’s called ‘Spring Festival Market’ that have impressive range of goods such as variety of meat, tea, alcohol, and snacks.
A few days just before the festival begin, people are welcoming the new year with a fully-cleansed body. Cleaning oneself also symbolizes washing off the bad luck of the old year.
On the same day, people often go to the fair to purchase essential goods for the festival like firecrackers, couplets, lanterns, and paper-cuttings for window decorations.
The Chinese believe that these decorations bring good luck and happiness and drive away misfortune.
And that’s how I inspired to create this piece ‘Journey Home’ that is featuring a festival market packed with people and critters buying goods for their family and home decoration. The illustration is vibrant with the Chinese New Year color theme.

Materials & Process
Sketches: I like using 14B pencil to sketch and adhesive spray to seal the drawing and protect the drawing from fading.
Painting: I used HIMI MIYA gouache and colored pencil to add details and texture.
To complete the artwork: digital retouch and color grade.
